 What Is ECO4 Funding?
ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation Phase 4) is a UK government-backed scheme that requires major energy suppliers to fund energy-saving improvements in eligible homes. Running from July 2022 to March 2026, ECO4 focuses on reducing carbon emissions and tackling fuel poverty by upgrading inefficient properties.
Who Qualifies?
ECO4 targets low-income households, especially those receiving certain benefits (like Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or Child Tax Credit). Once a household is deemed eligible, an accredited installer conducts a property assessment. Based on the findings, a tailored package of improvements is proposed. The funding is provided directly by energy suppliers, so customers typically don’t pay upfront costs.
